---- — The South Dearborn Knights took four of the top six places at the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference cross country meet held at Connersville High School.
The end result was a solid first place finish and the team title.
The host Spartans (58) trailed South Dearborn by 29 points in the final standings. The Batesville Bulldogs placed third with 74 points, which was well ahead of Greensburg in fourth.
The Bulldogs had three runners place in the top 15 and earn all-conference honors.
Batesville was led by junior Cole Nuhring in fifth place and a time of 17:55.
Freshman Caleb Moster and sophomore Connor Bell also garnered conference honors. Moster was 10th with a time of 18:15, while Bell crossed the finish line 12th.
Garrett Yorn and Alex Batta rounded out the scoring for coach Thomas Barnett. Yorn was 17th followed by Batta in 30th. Calvin Lehman and Trent Barnett were close behind in 32nd and 33rd, respectively.
Four Batesville runners – Connor Lunsford, Eliot Main, Peter Heil and Clay Yeaton – placed in the Top 15 in the junior varsity race. Lunsford and Main led the way in second and third. Heil finished sixth, while Yeaton was 14th.
