The Oldenburg Academy girls basketball team traveled to Indianapolis to play Milan at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Lady Twisters (5-6) defeated the winless Lady Indians by a score of 48-20. It was the third win in a row for OA.
This was a “great experience for the kids,” OA head coach Dan Kerker commented. “A chance to play a game on a NBA floor is something the kids will remember for a lifetime.
“We were able to get all 14 players a fair amount of playing time. It was good to play well,” he added.
Ella Lamping recorded her sixth double-double in the last seven games. Lamping scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with five steals.
Kirsten Ricke led the team in scoring with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field.
Anna Dickman and Cora Weisenbach added six points apiece. Dickman led the team with five assists.
“Most impressive was the hustle and effort on the defensive side of the ball,” Kerker commented. “The last eight games the kids have held our opponents to 34.8 points a game.
“It is pleasing to know we are moving in the right direction,” he added.
