Trojans edge BHS freshmen

The Batesville High School freshman football team suffered its first loss of the season.

The East Central Trojans scored late in the fourth quarter to seal a 14-6 win over the Bulldogs.

The Trojans also scored the first touchdown of the game to take an early 8-0 lead.

Batesville answered to cut the deficit to 8-6. A 32-yard run by Tanner Ayette helped set up the only BHS points.Quarterback Peyton Meyer scored from 1-yard out.

John Harmeyer, Brett Williamson, Jacob Christie, and Ayette all had an outstanding game defensively for the Bulldogs, according to coach Eric Feller.

Batesville will be in action again on Thursday night in Lawrencburg
