---- — The Batesville High School junior varsity football team is keeping up with the varsity.
The Bulldogs remained undefeated on the season with a 28-0 victory on the road at Franklin County.
Batesville took a 20-0 lead into halftime.
John Gerstbauer scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter, but most of the offense came in the second.
Wyatt Schebler ran the ball in from one yard out and Jacob Koehne added a two-point conversion to make it a 14-0 game. A 48-yard touchdown pass from Leo Enneking to John Moody added six more points to the margin.
The Wildcats were moving the ball late in the second quarter, but Dylan Scripture intercepted a pass to put an end to it.
Despite an interception by Moody in the the third quarter, the Bulldogs could not get much momentum.
Derek Davidson intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to help set up the team’s final score. Zach Mears rushed for a 4-yard touchdown, while Gerstbauer added the two-point conversion.
Defensively, linebacker Neal Nobbe put a lot of pressure on the FC quarterback and came up with a few sacks, according to coach Terry Nobbe. He also credited the secondary of Davidson, Moody, Schebler and Tim Tunny with good coverage the entire game.
The Bulldogs are now 8-0 for the season and 6-0 against team in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference.
