---- — The Oldenburg Academy varsity soccer team hit the road and traveled to Cincinnati to play Landmark Christian.
The visiting Twisters headed home with a 1-0 victory.
The lone goal was scored by Hayden Johnson late in the first half.
“Our defense came up big time as they posted a shutout,” Getz commented. “This was another good test for us to see where we are at as a team.
“I thought the bench play was the best of the year for us. If not for their play last night we don’t come home with a W,” he added.
Jordan Kramer gives us that added speed at the forward spot that keeps opposing teams honest, according to Getz. The coach also credited Sergio Dole and Aaron Moorman for giving the team a big lift. “I thought that both Sergio and Aaron had their best games of the year,” Getz noted. “Aaron really stepped up late in the game for us.”
Tyler Wachsmann came off the bench and gave the Twisters good minutes on defense to help preserve the shutout, Getz added.
The Twisters conclude the regular season with a record 10-4-1.
Mugline:Three goals not enough
The Twisters scored three times, but it was not enough at Connersville.
The OA varsity soccer team suffered a 5-3 loss to the Spartans.
