---- — The Oldenburg Academy boys varsity soccer team blanked the South Dearborn Knights by a score of 4-0 and improved to 7-2-1.
“We got off to a good start, which helped set the tone for the night,” OA head coach Ken Getz commented. “We are really playing good throughout the middle of the field right now.”
Brian Weberding gave the Twisters a boost and helped set up a pair of scores.
Daniel Mullen scored at the 30:27 mark in the first period from an assist by Hayden Johnson.
Mullen scored again at the 12:11 mark assisted by Taylor Reed on a restart from 25 yards out.
Mark Hoog added the team’s third goal of the first half at the 3:02 mark off an assist by Brian Weberding.

Jeremy Kelnhofer had seven saves in goal for the Twisters. Matty Hurm made another goal saving clearance in the 6 yard box, according to Getz.
South Dearborn had 16 shots with seven on goal.
The Twisters suffered a 2-0 loss in junior varsity action.
“We didn’t get very many shots, but did get quality shots,” Getz commented. “We had one off the cross bar and one in the last minute just wide in a one-on-one with the keeper.
“Kole McGinn had a nice cross into the box that we just missed scoring on also. Luke Ruter had a nice game in the midfield,” he added.
