Ripley 40/8 all-star games set for April 4

The 60th annual Ripley County 40/8 Voiture 1047 All-Star Basketball Games will be held Friday, April 4, at Batesville High School.

The two entertaining and traditionally high scoring all-star games pit the senior girls and boys of Ripley County schools and their counterparts from selected Tri-County schools (Dearborn, Ohio and Switzerland counties).

The girls game will tip-off the night at 6:30 p.m. with the boys game to follow.

The roster for the Ripley County girls include Rebecca Roell, Bailey Bauman, Chelsey Paul, Madi Oesterling and Brooke Rohlfing (Batesville); Sydney Keene and Brooklyn Ronsheim (Jac-Cen-Del); Emily Cumberworth, Rachael Bush and Samantha Wilhoit (South Ripley); Katie Schmidt (Milan). The team will be coached by Darrick Cox.

The Tri-County team will consist of Morgan Wolfer, Emily Townsend, Ellen Barrett and Kooper Vertz (South Dearborn); Ericka Coy, Mercedes Parham and Bre Ricketts (Switzerland County). The team will be coach by East Central’s Kevin Moore

The Ripley County boys team includes Alec Giesting, Wes McKinney, Kassidy Kase, Nathan Longstreth and Dustin Nobbe (Batesville); Trey Brown, Cord Comer, Adam Seifert and Austin Wagner (Jac-Cen-Del); Caleb Cumberworth, Joe Dicken, Austin Grider, Austin Halcomb, Logan Linkmeyer and Trent Moorhead (South Ripley); Logan Alloway, Jon Bixler, Cooper Wade,Logan Karsteter and Kevin Detraz (Milan). The team will be coached by Batesville’s Aaron Garett.

The Tri-County boys team will be made up of Austin Clark, Nathan Hunter Chase Ritch and T. J. White (Switzerland County); Dennis Crawford, Jacob Williams and Jeff Wohlfrom (South Dearborn). The coach is B. J. McAlister of Switzerland County.

Since the first game in 1954, Ripley County Voiture 1047 40/8 has given over 500 nursing scholarships to young ladies and men seeking to become registered nurses.

At the close of that game, the 11 nursing scholarship recipients will be introduced.
