The National Collegiate Athletic Association recently held its tournament draw for baseball.
Two Batesville High School graduates are members of teams that earned a berth in the annual tournament.
The Bowling Green State University Falcons, a four seed, will travel to Louisville, Ky. for a first round matchup with the University of Louisville. The top-seeded Cardinals is also joined by Oklahoma State, Miami (Fla.) and the Falcons.
Batesville High School graduate Chris Miller is a junior pitcher for the Falcons. He has appeared in nine games and has an earned run average of 4.22.
Also earning a berth in the NCAA tournament was Valparaiso following their victory in the Horizon League Conference Tournament. For the second straight year, the Crusaders will stay within the Indiana borders for postseason play.
The NCAA announced Valpo will be a fourth seed in the Bloomington Regional beginning Friday, May 31st. Joining the Crusaders will be the host Indiana Hoosiers, the Florida Gators, and the Austin Peay Governors.
Batesville High School graduate Zack Walsh is a pitcher for the Crusadors. He has a 2-0 record in 14 appearances and has a 2.70 ERA from his relief role.
