The Batesville High School baseball team ran their winning streak to four games with a 6-1 victory over Rushville on Tuesday at Liberty Park.
Pitcher Bryan Hoeing shut down the Rushville bats. The BHS sophomore gave up just two hits and one run over seven innings, while striking out eight.
Meanwhile, the Batesville offense was getting the job done as well.
The Bulldogs finished with eight hits and walked six times.
Nick Kirschner was the only BHS player with more than one hit. The junior centerfielder recorded two hits, walked twice and scored three times. Hoeing, Austin Westerfeld, Will Ollier, Noah Gausman, Connor Schuck and Ben Summers each had one hit.
The Batesville junior varsity slipped past the Lions by a score of 8-6.
The Bulldogs had five hits in the game, but walked seven times for extra opportunities to score. Brett Westerfeld had one hit and scored three times to lead the team offensively. Wyatt Schebler, Ben Wilson, Leo Enneking and Caleb Abshear each had one hit.
Tyler Folkman and Justin Laswell shared the pitching duties. Laswell threw the final three and one-third to get the victory.
