The Batesville High School girls varsity basketball team moved to 11-7 on the season with a home victory on Saturday against the Franklin County Lady Wildcats.
Batesville defeated the visiting Lady Wildcats by a score of 53-24.
The Lady Bulldogs were consistent in their offense approach and scored 15 points in each of the first two quarters. Franklin County managed only seven points in the first quarter and were held to five in the second.
Coach Darrick Cox and the Lady Bulldogs led 30-12 at halftime.
The story was similar in the second half. Franklin County was limited to 12 points, while the Lady Bulldogs scored 13 in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth.
Brooke Bradford led the way with 13 points followed by Shelby Rupp with 10. Bailey Baumer was third on the team with nine.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-7 with the victory, while the loss dropped FC to 1-14.
Batesville JV wins by six points
The Lady Bulldogs were victorious in the junior varsity contest by a score of 36-33.
Batesville built a 19-10 lead by halftime and needed it. Franklin County outscored the Lady Bulldogs 12-4 in the third quarter to cut the margin to one point.
