Bulldogs win Ripley County basketball tournament with victory over South Ripley

(Continued)

BATESVILLE —

Joe Dicken and Austin Halcomb led a late rally by the Raiders in the fourth quarter. The Raiders outscored the Bulldogs 21-11 in the final quarter.

"We did not want to give up that many points in the fourth quarter, but you have to credit South Ripley ... they hit some tough shots and went to basket hard.

"Really happy for the boys that they get to celebrate winning the county tournament. It is something they will remember for a long time," he added.

Offensively, the Bulldogs had a balanced scoring effort. Four players scored in double figures. Hoeing led all scorers in the game with 19 points followed by tournament most valuable player McKinney with 13. Kase and Walsman added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Halcomb finished with a team-high 14 points for the Raiders, while Dicken added 11.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-2 on the season, while the Raiders fall to 5-5.
