The pitching was sharp as was the defense. The offense produced some timely hitting and scored 12 runs.
This all adds up to one of the better outings of the season for the Batesville High School varsity baseball team.
The Bulldogs defeated the visiting Hauser Jets 12-0 at Liberty Park.
Scott Meyer pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out six Hauser batters to notch his second win of the season.
Jeff Tucholski, Matt Back and Brandon Kerker each had two hits for the Bulldog offense. One of Tucholski’s was a solo home run over the leftfield fence.
Logan Rose had a triple, Scott Meyer a double, while Quinn Foster and Christopher Meyer each had singles.
The Bulldogs improved to 6-6 overall.
Bulldogs beat Shiners
The Bulldogs scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the visiting Rising Sun Shiners by a score of 11-10.
Pinch runner Zack Walsh scored the winning run on a RBI single by senior Jeremy Cook.
Cook, Tucholski, Foster, Ben Folkman and Ryan Miller each had two hits to lead the Batesville offense. Back, Rose, and Kerker had one hit each.
Tucholski got the pitching win in relief of junior Pete Reding.
