BHs golfers second to Cubs

Nine teams converged on Hillcrest Golf and Country Club for the annual Batesville Invitational golf tournament Saturday afternoon.
The Madison Cubs dominated the field with a team score of 212 strokes followed by the host Bulldogs with 328. Columbus North was third with 329 with Connersville in fourth with 334.
The Bulldogs were led by senior Tony Narwold with an 18-hole score of 77. The Marian College-bound golfer had a pair of birdies and five pars on the front nine to go out in 36. He followed up with a 41 on the back nine.
Joey Balser and Tyler Hagan tied for the second best Batesville score. Balser carded a 38 on the front nine and 44 on the back, while Hagan had nine hole totals of 42 and 40.
Zach Litzinger rounded out the team scoring for Batesville with an 87. Kevin Meyer had the fifth best score with a 92.
Justin Tereshko of Madison earned medalist honors with a 72, including a one-under-par 35 on the back nine.
Columbus North’s Tyler Duncan was second with a 73 followed by Perry Meridian’s Aaron Monson with 74. Narwold’s 77 tied for fourth overall with Greensburg’s Robbie Koors.

Bulldogs beat Panthers
The Bulldogs hosted the Jennings County Panthers and won 170-187 Monday night at Hillcrest.
Narwold eagled the final hole for an even par round of 36 on the back nine to lead the Bulldogs.
Litzinger was second on the team with a 42, while Balser and Chris Giesting added 44 and 48 respectively.

BHS 11th at Chatard
Batesville traveled to Indianapolis to compete in the Chatard Invitational and placed 11th in a field of 12 teams.
Without their senior leader, the Bulldogs were led by Litzinger and Hagan with 18-hole totals of 84. Balser carded a 92 and Meyer had a 99. Andrew Weigel was fifth on the team with a 110.
Carmel won the invitational with a score of 319 followed by Brebeuf with 323.
