OA tennis team falls to Frankin County



The Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters dropped a 4-1 decision to the Franklin County Lady Wildcats in girls tennis action.

The lone Oldenburg victory came at No. 2 singles. Michelle Willhelm defeated Andrea Back 6-1 and 6-1.

Molly Wilder and Lucy Glaser both lost in straight sets in singles.

Polly Fairfield and Allison Korb defeated Oldenburg’s Amanda Dickman and Kendra Getz 6-1 and 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

The match at No. 2 doubles went three sets before a winner was determined. After losing the first set 3-6, Oldenburg’s Georgia Smith and Katie Wanstrath won the second 6-4. The third and final set was won a tie-breaker by Michelle Fohl and Chelsie Walsh 7-6 (10-8).

Ali Langferman and Hillary Nolting were winners in junior varsity doubles, while Korrine Gick won in singles.
