OA takes two over the weekend

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters picked up two more wins on the hardwood and evened their record at 6-6.

The Twisters defeated Greenwood Christian on Friday and followed up with a victory over Waldron one night later.

Oldenburg got off to a slow start Saturday against the winless Mohawks.

Waldron scored 11 first quarter points and led by six. The Twisters were able to keep pace in the second quarter and took a slim 18-17 lead into halftime.

Jim Moorman and Jason Strasemeier provided an offensive spark in the third quarter.

Seven points by Moorman and six by Stasemeier led to a 18-25 run and a 36-32 advantage through three quarters.

After struggling from the free throw line over the first 24 minutes, the Twisters made them count in the fourth quarter. The team hit 7-of-9 attempts to help secure the victory.

Strasemeier finished with a team-high 20 points, while Moorman was second with 15.

The Twisters were hampered by a slow start against Greenwood Christian, but went on to post a 55-47 victory.

After falling behind 13-10, Oldenburg outscored their opponents 21-5 and established a 13 point cushion by halftime.

Strasemeier led all scorers with 19 points followed by Moorman with 15.
