The Batesville Beautification League announced the winners of its fall raffle at the Batesville’s Applefest Sunday, Sept. 29, at Liberty Park.
Walter Hullemeyer, Batesville, won the first prize of $500. Jaclyn Hofmann, Batesville, won the second prize, a stained glass panel made by Dr. Scott Rahschulte. Terry Messerschmidt, Batesville, won the third prize, a quilt. Wendy Schoettelkotte, Indianapolis, and Dave Meyer, Batesville, won the fourth and fifth prizes of $100.
The league would once again like to thank all who generously supported our efforts to keep Batesville beautiful by purchasing raffle tickets. We also want to thank The Herald-Tribune for publicizing the league’s ongoing projects.

Member appreciates publicity for Oktoberfest
I would like to complement Diane Raver on the article regarding the St. Leon American Legion Oktoberfest held Oct. 4-5. This article brought our Oktoberfest to the attention of the community. People were picking up copies of The Herald-Tribune so they could have information on the schedule of events to take place.
Marilyn Schwegman did a good job of coordinating the ad for the paper.
The publicity provided by The Herald-Tribune helped bring a lot of people to enjoy our Oktoberfest and made it our best one ever.
Thank you from the St. Leon American Legion Post 464.
