Batesville Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry leaders are so grateful to have been the recipients of a proactive grant of $1,997 from the Ripley County Community Foundation. We are truly blessed to have the generous support of such a civic-minded organization.
Unfortunately, economic times are still very tough and many good people are in need of the services that the pantry provides. Other than some U.S.Department of Agriculture products provided by Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Indianapolis, we are entirely dependent on the community for the financial backing needed to operate the pantry. Having this grant from the RCCF means everything to a small operation such as ours.
The funds that were provided made possible the purchase of so many items that most of us take for granted, such as shampoo and deodorant (the purchase of which is not permitted with food stamps), vegetables, soups, dairy products, meats and so much more.
We are indeed fortunate to live in a community that supports the RCCF, which in turn supports the community.
