The Friends of Brum Woods would like to thank the 30-plus volunteers who showed up on Saturday morning, April 26, to help clean up the trails and work on the flower beds.

Many organizations were represented including a group of Cub Scouts, who teamed up and did a great job of picking up trash in the woods and along State Road 229 and Huntersville Road.

It was a very productive morning and we were thrilled with the turnout. The flower beds were cleaned up and work groups concentrated on specific maintenance projects on the trails.

Our next project is to finish updating the trail maps, and those should be completed very soon.

We would also like to thank Mike Baumer, Larry Schutte and the Batesville Parks and Recreation Board for their support of our group and of Brum Woods.

Batesville is very fortunate to have 80 acres of beautiful woods and trails for all to enjoy, right in the heart of our town.
