— Betty Jean Siebert, 85, Batesville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at The Waters of Batesville.

Born June 29, 1927, in Batesville, she was the daughter of August and Rita (Kramer) Ahrens. She married Alvin W. Siebert Sept. 8, 1945, at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, where she was a member of the church and St. John’s Ladies Aid.

Betty, a graduate of Batesville High School, loved to mow grass and work on the farm. She loved her flowers, which would always do well and grow, and also gardening. She was a very faithful nurse and wife to her husband. She liked to do crossword puzzles and did a lot of reading.

Betty is survived by her son and his wife Dennis and Roberta Siebert, Batesville. She will also be missed by her sisters Wilma (Bob) Meyer, Batesville, and Gertrude Linville, Kentucky; and brother Mervin (Margie) Ahrens, Batesville; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband May 27, 2004; and her brother Irvin Ahrens.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 21, from 4-7 p.m., and the service is Saturday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home with the Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial is in St. John Church Cemetery, Huntersville.
