Ralph W. Littell, 91

— Ralph W. Littell, 91, Greensburg, passed Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility, Columbus.

The son of Waldo Littell and Ida Mae Littell was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Greensburg. He married Mary Walke March 30, 1946, and she preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2010.

Ralph attended Greensburg schools. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Ralph spent most of his working life as a painter for Hillenbrand Industries in the factory. Some of his hobbies included woodworking, crossword puzzles, small crafts, camping, hunting and spending time at flea markets and yard sales.

Survivors include his son, Charles (Darlene) Robbins, Columbus; his sister, Vivian Klene, Greensburg; two grandchildren: Glenn (Amy) Robbins, Scipio, and Kellie (Greg) Dooley, South Bend; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ralph also was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson Gale W. Robbins; and three sisters: Viola Sparks, Lillian Hull and Lilas Ryon.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 11, from 4-7 p.m. at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg. Ralph’s funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
