Jacob Charles Amberger, 17

-- — Jacob Charles Amberger, 17, born Sept. 29, 1995, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, following an accident.

He will be sadly missed by his parents, Keri Amberger and Charlie Amberger, Sunman; and his siblings, Megan and Jason, Sunman. He is also survived by his grandparents, Jerry and Sheri Osterman and Dick and Jo Ann Amberger; his aunts and uncles, Baron (Colleen) Osterman, Teri (Mike) Kiel, Jordan Osterman and Charlene (Neil) Dudley; and cousins Nick, Kelsie and Bruce Osterman, Prader and Elleigh Kiel and Alex and Alyssa Dudley.

Jacob had been involved in rec and league soccer since the age of 4. He was a third-year member of the East Central High School soccer team, serving as a team captain this year.

He worked at McDonald’s, Batesville, and was a member of Cheviot, Ohio, Explorers, a group of volunteers who are interested in law enforcement. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Youth Group.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11, from 3:30-9 p.m. at the St. Joseph Parish Life Center, St. Leon. The service is Friday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Leon, with the burial immediately following in the church cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the Jacob Amberger Memorial Scholarship Fund. Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home, Dover, is assisting the family.
