, Sunman, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at St. Andrews Health Campus. Lucy Mae Cranfill, 78

The daughter of the late Samuel Cash Jewell and Amanda (Lunsford) Jewell was born April 3, 1935, in Burns Springs, Clay County, Ky.

Mrs. Cranfill was a housekeeper for the Radisson Hotel for several years, retiring in 1989.

Mrs. Cranfill is survived by her four children: Richard E. Cranfill Jr., Amanda (Dennis) Westerman and Christopher Cranfill, Brookville, and Debra (Ray) Chalk, Cincinnati; seven grandchildren: Steven (Gloria) Cranfill, Christopher (Mendy) Cranfill, Jamie Copeland, Robert (Jaymie) Shaffer, Crystal (James) Tilton, Shane (Kim) Westerman and Nikki Christerson; in addition to 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Callie Hoegman, Batesville, and brother James William Jewell, North Vernon.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Richard E. Cranfill Sr.; and siblings Maggie Gilbreath, Carlos Jewell, Hommer Jewell, Samuel Jewell Jr. and Theopolis Jewell.

Funeral services with the Rev. Dr. Harold Shackleford officiating will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, Ohio. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati. Online condolences can be posted at
