Walter L. Firsich, 86

--- — Walter L. Firsich, 86, Connersville, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in Fayette Regional Health System there. He was born in Batesville July 30, 1924, to Elsie (Kessens) Enzinger and William Firsich. The U.S. Army World War II veteran was employed at Philco-Ford and later at Visteon, retiring after 49 years. Firsich also was an active farmer. Survivors include his ex-wife: Mildred Becraft, Everton; a daughter-in-law: Karren Firsich, Everton; a son and daughter-in-law: Christopher and Kimberly Firsich, Everton; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Elsie and Ron Eckstein, Annita and Matt Montgomery and Annette Firsich, Connersville; two sisters: Elsie June Hurelbrink, Versailles, and Annabelle M. Vreeland, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother: William Firsich; a son: Charles Firsich; three grandchildren: Charles Firsich Jr. and Jonathan and Darren Firsich. Visitation is at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, Connersville, Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will be held there at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. Burial with military rites will be in the Batesville United Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Fayette County Cancer Fund.
