Ann F. Smith Brumfield, 83

— Ann F. Smith Brumfield, 83, passed away at her home in North Vernon Thursday, May 16, 2013.  

She was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Franklin County to Frank and Oletta (Harsh) Throckmorton. She married Edgar W. Smith July 23, 1969, and he preceded her in death in 2007. She married Michael L. Brumfield April 13, 2010, and he survives.  

Ann spent many years in the Buena Vista area and had also lived in Greenfield later in life.

She attended Clarksburg schools. Ann was a member of Buena Vista Christian Church and former member of Order of the Eastern Star, Greensburg, and Alpha Omicron Alpha Sorority.  She enjoyed painting and loved to work in her garden.

In addition to her husband, Michael, Ann is survived by sons Larry A. and wife Sue Smith, Washington, Mo., and Robert F. and wife Kim Smith, Marietta, Calif.; a brother, Lowell “Tom” Throckmorton, Buena Vista; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Bryan and wife Roxanne Throckmorton and Valerie and husband John Fields; and two stepchildren.  

In addition to her parents and first husband, Ann was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Throckmorton.

Friends are welcome to visit Monday, May 20, from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service presided by John Johnson at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Burial will be in the Clarksburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Buena Vista Christian Church or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
