Dawn R. Caudill, 42, Greensburg, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Hospice of Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born April 21, 1972, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Mildred Long and David Smith. She married David Caudill April 5, 2008, in Batesville.
A homemaker, she was also a member of the Spina Bifida Association of Central Indiana.
Dawn was crazy about pastel colors. Her wedding was themed in pastel colors of the rainbow from the bridesmaids' dresses to sand used during the ceremony. She loved children and proudly became the adopted mother of David's two children four years ago. An animal lover as well, along with the four of them, they also filled their house with five dogs. David teased that Dawn's favorite hobby was shopping. Although she liked shoes, her weakness was purses. So much so that she became a dealer for Thirty-One Purses and Handbags. He also hinted that she was a fan of chick flicks.
She is survived by her husband; daughter Rosy Caudill and son Sebastian Caudill, both at home; sister Donna Judy, Indianapolis; brothers Greg Smith, Brazil, Ind., Steve Smith, Watertown, New York, and Tim Smith, Speedway; stepsisters Mila Walker, Noblesville, and Rhonda Harris, Indianapolis; stepbrother Randy Harris Jr., Indianapolis; and parents David Smith, Indianapolis, and Mildred Long, Speedway.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Danny Smith.
Visitation is Thursday, June 5, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Steve Yeaton and Barry Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Christian Cemetery, Versailles. Memorials may be made to the Dawn Smith-Caudill Memorial Fund at any PNC Bank.
