Born Nov. 4, 1962, in Covington, Ky., she was the daughter of Bernard Smith, Wilder, Ky., who survives, and Janet (Pollard) Knowlton, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents, most recently her grandmother, Nell Pollard, Versailles, with whom she shared a special bond.

Despite facing numerous health issues, she remained positive and focused on others, particularly her daughter, of whom she was very, very proud. A look at her Facebook page upon the announcement of her death showed just how liked and appreciated she was by family, friends and co-workers. Having made a positive impact on many, she will be missed.
