Douglass A. Graham, 49, Batesville, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at his home. 

The son of Gerald and Johanne (Gartemann) Graham was born June 9, 1964, in Spain. He was a 1982 graduate of Milan High School and graduated from Northern Kentucky University. He worked for Cummins Inc. as a supervisor and married Brenda Kirschner June 9, 1996. 

He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Milan American Legion Post 235 and the Knights of Columbus. He loved his church, St. Pius, and was on the council. He was also part owner of the former Cheers, Batesville.

Doug loved giving back. The emergency medical technician volunteered for the Batesville Fire and Rescue Department. He loved his country and was very patriotic. He honored soldiers through his membership in the Indiana Patriot Guard Riders. He helped raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by setting up a poker run through Cummins.

He loved NASCAR and going to races with his buddies. Doug loved riding his Harley, shooting guns with his family and friends and enjoyed working on his 1961 Apache truck with his Cummins friends. He also loved spending time in Gatlinburg with his family and going to Purdue University to visit his daughter. 

Doug knew no stranger, always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help someone out. He was a loving husband and father. He loved his job and the people he worked with and was a jokester. 

Doug is survived by his wife and his daughter, Koralyssa Graham. He will also be missed by his sisters, Debbie (Scott) Busching, Hebron, Ky., and Michelle Graham, Arlington, Va.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 14, from 4-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 E., Batesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church, Sunman, with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow at St. Pius Cemetery with military rites. Memorials are suggested to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or Gerald and Johanne Graham Volunteer Scholarship Fund.
