Bernard L. Rudolf, 92, Beech Grove, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
He was born in Oldenburg June 13, 1920, to Michael B. and Josephine M. (Lamping) Rudolf.
Bernard was a test equipment builder for P.R. Mallory Corp., Indianapolis, for 47 years.
He also volunteered for Boy Scouts of America, serving in several positions, including the Boy Scout Pack and Troop 108, an institutional representative, the Indianapolis Archdiocese Committee on Catholic Scouting and the Fire-crafter Organization. He received the August W. Seyfried Award for outstanding service in 1998.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Ruth A. Rudolf, grandson Joshua M. Cox and his six brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances A. (Nobbe) Rudolf, whom he married June 26, 1946, in Hamburg; his children Helena J. Rudolf, Lawrence B. (Ruth) Rudolf, Rick A. (Cheryl) Rudolf, Jane M. (John) Cox, Roger G. Rudolf and Gerald K. (Donna) Rudolf; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m. in Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, Indianapolis. Morning prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 17.
Then a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Beech Grove, where Bernard served as an usher for many years. Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery.
