Lawrence A. Meyer, 76

Lawrence A. Meyer, 76, Oldenburg, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born July 26, 1937, in Batesville, he was the son of Mary Ann (Gerhling) and Carl Meyer. He married Ruth Moeller June 11, 1957, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Hamburg.

Larry was an over the road truck driver at Hill-Rom for 25 years before becoming an independent owner and operator for nearly 25 years. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association; Holy Family Catholic Church, Oldenburg; and Knights of Columbus Council 1461.

Larry is survived by his wife; daughters and sons-in-law Debra and Brian Krieger, Batesville, Denise and Roger Hartman, Indianapolis, and Darlene Meyer, Bloomington; son and daughter-in-law Doug and Susan Meyer, Oldenburg; brothers George, Hamburg, James and Dennis, Batesville, and Thomas, Oldenburg; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dale.

Visitation is Friday, Aug. 30, from 9-11:30 a.m. followed by services officiated by the Rev. David Kobak, OFM, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests memorials to the Dale Meyer Memorial Award or Oldenburg Little League.

Weigel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
