Lowell B. Johnson, 54

Lowell B. Johnson, 54, Batesville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Margaret Mary Health. 

The son of Carl and Bertha (Burkett) Johnson was born May 8, 1959, in Milan. He was a self-employed contractor for L-M Painting, and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, cooking family dinners, but, most of all, spending time with his family and watching sporting events of his grandchildren. 

Lowell is survived by fiancée Donna Maples, Batesville; son Matt (Justina) Johnson, Osgood; daughter Kristy (David) Sams, Moores Hill (love and miss you, Dad); brother Dewayne Johnson, North Carolina; sisters JoElla Watson and Sharon Collins, California, Sandy Davies and Jannie Deaton Haase, Milan, Karen Rhoades, Texas, and Joy Brumback, Versailles; seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and several brother-in-laws. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Mason Sams, brother Don Johnson and sisters Barbara Minshell, Ann Watson and Jackie Lowery.

Visitation is Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral services with Pastor Tom Holt officiating at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 U.S. 50, Dillsboro. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery, Elrod. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 243, Milan, IN 47031.
