Rosemary Haskamp, 93, Kalamazoo, Mich., died there Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014.
The daughter of Louis and Laura (Mack) Boehmer was born July 12, 1920, in Batesville. After graduating from St. Louis Catholic School, she was a Batesville Telephone Co. operator while in high school. On July 22, 1944, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Rosemary was married to Ambrose “Tony” Haskamp, who preceded her in death.
Members of her family include nine children: Claudia (Dick) McKibben, Dorothy (Conrad) Tisland, Tony (Marion) Haskamp, Linda (Jim) Poquette, Mike (Gail) Haskamp, Tim (Mary Pat) Haskamp, Mark (Mary) Haskamp, Joe (Jeanette) Haskamp and Jim (Carol) Haskamp; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister Irene Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Laura Haskamp; granddaughter Veronica Haskamp; and sister Dorothy Boehmer.
Friends will spend time with family while sharing refreshments Friday, Feb. 28, from 5-8 p.m. at Betzler Life Story Funeral Home, Kalamazoo, where a time of sharing will take place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church there, where memorial donations may be made. Burial is at Mount Ever Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo. A luncheon will follow in the funeral home's center.
