Norma Morton

Norma Jean Morton, 84, Sunman, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Ripley Crossing, Milan.

Born July 22, 1929, in Ripley County, she was the daughter of Buryl and Gretna Nickel Corson. Norma married Ellsworth Morton June 14, 1947, and he preceded her in death July 21, 1977.

After the passing of her husband, she worked at Campbell Hausfauld and was a cook at Klumps Tavern. Norma was a very good fisherman, loved to hunt mushrooms and just be outdoors. She always had a garden and liked canning what she grew.

Those surviving who will cherish Norma's memory include children Bob (Jane) Morton, Greensburg, Suzanne (Darrell) Thomas, Columbus, Diana (Jerry) Ertel, Batesville, Debbie (Mike) Tower, Naples, Florida, Ginger (Mike) Troxell, Columbus, and Brian (Kelli) Morton, Ross, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Billy Morton and brother Charles.

Visitation will be Friday, May 16, from 5-8 p.m., and the funeral is Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine St., Sunman. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman.
