Ralph E. Muckerheide, 73

— Ralph E. Muckerheide, 73, Greensburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

The son of Albert L. and Hilda M. (Obermeyer) Muckerheide was born in Rush County July 7, 1939.

He was a farmer and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1957. Ralph was dedicated to his family, church and his love of farming and the land.

He was married to Martha L. Smith Aug. 5, 1967, and she survives.

He is also survived by one son: Scott (Mary Ann) Muckerheide, Bloomington; one daughter: Michelle (Mike) Gable, Corydon; three brothers: Robert (Donna) Muckerheide, Milroy, and Dale E. (Debbie) Muckerheide and James (Kay) Muckerheide, Greensburg; two sisters: Carol Hahn, Greensburg, and Marilyn (Ron) Land, Rushville; four grandchildren: Matthew S. Muckerheide, Thomas R. Muckerheide, Seth M. Muckerheide and Logan S. Gable; two aunts: Alma Obermeyer and Rosaline Muckerheide; seven nieces; and 13 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law: Ernie Hahn.

A rosary for family and friends will be prayed Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 3:30 p.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg, then visitation will be from 4-7 p.m.   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. John Meyer officiating.

Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
