---- — Theresa C. Hornberger, 56, Batesville, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at University Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born June 17, 1957, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Barbara (Selkirk) and John Oesterling Sr.

She worked as an assembler at Hill-Rom Architectural for 23 years and for 10 years as a cook at Jawacdah Farm for Hillenbrand Industries.

According to her son, Theresa found pleasure in tasks most of us consider chores. She loved to clean and cook. She not only kept her house immaculate, but her car as well. The statement was made "that you could eat off her floors and there was no doubt she kept her car the cleanest in town." While her lasagna was a favorite of Brady's, he said, "No matter what she made, it was all good." Naturally, she enjoyed watching the Food Network, and her sisters, good cooks in their right, would often call for cooking tips and advice.

Her family also talked about her infectious laugh that would soon have everyone laughing just as hard. She used to read quite a bit and while she didn't travel often, she liked to spend time at the beach. Even though it had been over a year since taking a trip to Put In Bay, Sandusky, Ohio, she was still talking about the great time she had.

Theresa is survived by her son, Brady Hornberger, Batesville; stepson Ryan Hornberger, Cincinnati; sisters and brothers-in-law Catherine and Greg Blanken, Oldenburg, Michelle and Sam Sitterding, Batesville, Amy and Joe Grimme, Charlotte, N.C., and Ingrid Oesterling, Greensburg; brother and sister-in-law Chris and Laura Oesterling, Oldenburg; stepsister and brother-in-law Amy and Daryl Gunter, Batesville; stepbrother and sister-in-law Troy and Jenny Ilderton, Oldenburg; stepmother Karen Oesterling, Batesville; and friend Jim Hodges, Batesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Blanken and brother John Oesterling Jr.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, July 17, followed by a memorial service with the Rev. Dave Johnston officiating at St. John's United Church of Christ, Huntersville. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family to assist with medical expenses or to Batesville Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry. Weigel Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
