Thelma Voiles, 99

BATESVILLE — Thelma Voiles, 99, Greensburg, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Ripley Crossing, Milan.

The daughter of William and Lydia Kirschbaum was born April 22, 1914, in Batesville. Thelma attended Batesville schools. On April 17, 1939, in Batesville she married Russell E. Voiles, who preceded her in death in 1970.

Thelma worked for over 25 years at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital Dietary Department. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church, Greensburg.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Anita J. (Gene) Pitts, Milan; three grandsons: Steven (Donna) Pitts, Milan, Dennis (Sarah) Pitts, Franklin, and Paul Pitts, San Francisco; five great-grandsons; one great- granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Ruth Kirschbaum, Pearl Voiles and Mary Jane Herbert; and two brothers: Ernest and William Kirschbaum.

A visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, May 21, from 4-7 p.m. and a service is Wednesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery there.
