John Jared Miller, 69

— John Jared Miller, 69, Batesville, passed away at his home Sunday, March 24, 2013.

He was born Sept. 8, 1943, in Indianapolis to John Clark and Joanne (Coffin) Miller. The 1961 Rushville Consolidated High School graduate attended IU. Jared joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1961-67 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietman War.

He married Donna McDaniel Feb. 10, 1973, and she survives.

Jared spent his early life in Rushville. He had lived in Batesville for 25 years. He worked many years at Trane Corp., Rushville, and was a Franklin County Sheriff’s Department deputy until 1978. He also worked in the food service industry and did construction work for various companies.

He also is survived by his mother, Rushville; daughters Ruth Anne and husband Willie Geis, Brookville, Denise and husband Kevin Britch and Stephanie Miller, Batesville; brothers Tom “Turkey” Miller, Hamilton, Ohio, David and wife Mona Miller, Mark Miller and James “Rookie” Miller, Rushville; sisters Carolyn Cameron, Sara and husband Greg Mosley and Jean and husband Scott Kopf, Rushville, and Cynthia Fincher, Greenfield; grandchildren Bethany and Carly Wagers, Hunter Geis, Bella and Gavin Britch and Tyler Kissell.

Jared was preceded in death by his father and an infant daughter, Jessica Marie Miller.

Visitation is Wednesday, March 27, from 10 a.m. until the noon service with the Rev. Tom Marshall presiding at Moster Mortuary, Rushville,

Burial with military rites by the Rush County Veteran’s Honor Guard will be in Rushville East Hill Cemetery.
