Janet Kay Kruse, 69

BATESVILLE — Janet Kay Kruse, 69, Batesville, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.

The daughter Robert and Reuth Grueb was born Jan. 12, 1943, in Fort Wayne. She married James Kruse Aug. 5, 1967, in Fort Wayne, and he died Sept. 29, 2003.

The educator and school principal for the Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corp. was a Ball State University graduate. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading and volunteering in her community. She just recently worked at the polls on Election Day. Kruse was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads, where she also served as the church secretary and treasurer for many years.

Survivors include nieces and nephews Diane and Jim Buffenbarger and their children Cole and Mallory, Laura and K.C. Laubacher and their children Seth, Rachael, Gretchen and Jake, Christopher and Lisa Olney and their children Emily and Connor, Jennifer and Ted Zahn and Nathan Kruse. She is also survived by Barbara and Allen Olney, Kenneth and Barbara Kruse and Joanne Grueb; and very good friend Clarence “Bud” McGowan.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Ronald Grueb; sister Barbara Grueb; and nephew Jefferey Grueb.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 18, from noon-2 p.m. followed by the service officiated by the Rev. Chad Adamik at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Ripley County Community Foundation.

Meyers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
