Daniel Edward Fenske, 58, Batesville, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 21, 1954, in Batesville, he was the son of the late Albert Edward and Lilly Josephine (Daugherty) Fenske. The 1972 graduate of Sunman High School was currently employed at Hill-Rom as a machinist for 40 years. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Dan was a family man, loved to golf, and he was an avid fan of baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed coaching his daughter, Erin, in baseball when she was a child. He also enjoyed playing co-ed ball with his adult sons, Stan and Steve, making several trips to Canada to play in tournaments.
He also enjoyed league bowling. Dan found great joy in doing things with his only granddaughter, Emma, and watching her grow. He loved hosting parties for extended family and friends. If you really knew Dan, you would know that he loved watching movies and television, especially science fiction.
Daniel married Kathy Tara April 28, 1984, and she preceded him in death Oct. 3, 1986. He then married Wanda Hedrick-Lomeli April 1, 1989, and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Erin (Forrest) Daily, Greenwood, Ark.; sons Steve Lomeli and Stan (Margo) Lomeli, Batesville; granddaughter Emma Lomeli; sisters Sue Dickman, Batesville, and Karen Fenske, Greensburg; brother Tim Fenske, Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and a rosary service were Sunday, Dec. 9, at Meyers Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Dec. 10, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Carl Hawver officiating.
