Before moving to Short Hills in 2002, she lived 15 years in Europe, where she traveled widely and proudly spoke fluent Spanish and Dutch. She loved sharing good food and conversation with her family and friends and was a stalwart of the Short Hills Racquets Club tennis and platform tennis teams.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by their children Elizabeth and Andrew Blanken; sisters Marge Hunter, Ruth Lecher, Jean Bomben, Doris Baker and Cathy Amrhein; brothers Howard "Bud," Walter "Buck," Fran, Henry, Joe and Dave Meyer; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
