Nancy L. Stirn, 79

Nancy L. Stirn, 79, Metamora, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at her residence.

Born Dec. 5, 1934, in Breathitt County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John and Cora (Turner) Riley. On Oct. 18, 1952, she was united in marriage to Walter P. Stirn, and he preceded her in death Feb. 2, 2011.

She was a homemaker and had also worked as a waitress at Wagner's Village Inn, Oldenburg, and at the Oldenburg Lumber Co. She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Brookville.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis (Connie) Stirn, West Chester, Ohio, Michael (Barbara) Stirn, Madison, Wis., and Steve (Kim) Stirn, Metamora; four grandchildren: Lindley Stirn, Lauren Stirn, Alex Stirn and Emily Stirn; three sisters: Helen Wagner, Oldenburg, Mildred Gabbard, Laurel, and Brenda Werner, West Alexandria, Ohio; and one brother: Henry Riley, Buena Vista.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nola Blake.

Family and friends may visit Monday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m.-noon followed by the service officiated by Eric Hopkins at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery there. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Margaret Mary Health.
