Jerry Eugene Reamer, 76

Jerry Eugene Reamer, 76, Batesville, formerly of Guilford, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014.

The son of the late Virgil E. Reamer and the late Ruby Fern Holland Reamer was born Sunday, Oct. 17, 1937, in Cincinnati. 

Jerry served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked as a pipefitter, Local Union 392, for Seagram's Distillery, retiring after over 32 years of service. He was a member of Aurora Church of Christ, serving as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. Jerry formerly attended Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. He was a former union steward and Masonic Lodge 151, Hartford, member. Jerry enjoyed fishing and camping trips. He farmed for 21 years and was a volunteer at Dearborn County Hospital for 11 years.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Reamer; daughters Jan Lynn Reamer (Edwina Anderson), Eureka, Calif., and Roberta "Bobbie" Jane Laker (husband Darrell), Batesville; grandchildren Holly Michelle Laker, Jared Lee Laker and Brandon Carl Laker.

In addition to his parents, brother Robert Dale Reamer preceded Jerry in death.

Friends will be received Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1-4 p.m. followed by services officiated by Brother Lynn White and Brian Dunaway at Aurora Church of Christ, 814 Sunnyside Ave., Aurora. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Awareness Association or church. Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, is handling the arrangements.
