Robert H. Bode, 74

Robert H. Bode, 74, Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born Aug. 26, 1939, in Greensburg, he was the son of Albert and Malinda (Brebberman) Bode.

Robert had worked in maintenance at BCA for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea.

He married Joann Venter Dec. 20, 1969, and she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter: Lisa (Chris) Brooks, Greenwood; six stepchildren: Brenda (Wayne) Chandler, Connersville, Bev (Richard) Wesseler, Greensburg, Brent Pennington, Denison, Texas, Briant Pennington, Connersville, Barb (Rick) Herbert, Greensburg, and Bonnie (Steve) Motz, Greensburg; one brother: Carl Bode, New Point; three grandchildren: Adeline, Abigail and Amelia Brooks; 16 stepgrandchildren; 19 stepgreat-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Paul Smallwood; one stepson: Rick Pennington; and one stepgrandson: Dustin Pennington.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by services Monday, Jan. 27, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg. Interment will be held in South Park Cemetery, Greensburg.
