Mary Lou Blank, 66, Crown Point, formerly of Batesville, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Franciscan St. Anthony Health there.
Born Feb. 17, 1947, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Dolores (Bramlage) and Edward Blank. She was a medical lab technician for many years at Margaret Mary Health before moving to Crown Point and accepting a similar position with Franciscan St. Anthony Health. She was a member of the White Hawk Country Club, Crown Point.
Although Mary Lou had many interests, without a doubt golf was her true passion. She also liked to socialize with friends, so a round of golf with good company made for a great day. Family time was equally as special. She always looked forward to coming back for the holidays and would spend several weeks staying with her sister Dana in addition to catching up with her nieces, nephews and old friends.
Mary Lou loved a good steak and dining out. When home, she would frequent Ertel Cellars Winery, with Harry & Izzy’s and the Columbia Club two of her favorite spots in Indianapolis. TV shows she preferred to watch were "Law & Order," "Castle" and "Blue Bloods" and she delighted in taking care of Buckeye, her dear friend and golfing partner Phyllis’ dog.
Mary Lou is survived by sisters Dana Row, Osgood, and Ruth Ann Scheele, Batesville; five nieces; one nephew; two great-nieces and five great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Dee Baker and great-nephew Johnathon Jay Meyers.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Sisters of St. Francis Chapel, Oldenburg. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Geis officiating. Her ashes will be buried at St. Louis Cemetery, Batesville. Memorials may be made to the Ripley County Humane Society, 1202 W. County Road 150 N., Osgood, IN 47037. Weigel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
