Daren M. Heppner, 49, Batesville, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his residence.
Born May 20, 1965, in Batesville, he was the son of Shirley (Volk) and Jerry Heppner. He was a sales manager for C.M. Temporary Services and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Daren was the essential alpha male. He liked shooting guns and seeing things blow up. An avid hunter, he liked hunting deer, rabbits, squirrels and coyotes. He was proficient with a bow and had a collection of trophies from past competitions to prove it. Not only did he like cars, especially muscle cars, but he enjoyed working on them as well. His family delighted in teasing about his fixation with the TV shows "CSI," "Law and Order" and the movie "Rambo." While pizza was a huge favorite of his, hamburgers were it. Daren loved to grill big, fat hamburgers and cover them with peppers.
He is survived by his daughters Amber and Alyssa Heppner, Batesville; father Jerry Heppner, Batesville; sisters Debbie Hughes, Batesville, and Dena Heppner, Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his mother Shirley.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 28, from 9-11 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church with the Rev. Randy Summers officiating. Following services, Daren will be cremated, and a private interment will be held.
The family requests memorials to the Margaret Mary Health Foundation Hospice Fund.
