William "Clay" Meyers V, 21

William "Clay" Meyers V, 21, Laurel, passed away early Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 2013, in Franklin County as the result of an auto accident.

He was born Dec. 12, 1991, in Shelbyville, one of two sons of William C. and Amy S. (Pavey) Meyers. Clay was a lifelong resident of Franklin County.

A 2010 graduate of Franklin County High School, he played basketball, baseball and tennis. He also played coed softball, men's league softball and sand volleyball.

He enjoyed being with family and friends and camping and had a real zest for life. He was employed at Pavey’s Grocery and really enjoyed working there.

Survivors include his parents; grandparents Larry Pavey, Laurel, Jane (Craig) Bradley, New Palestine, and William C. Meyers III, Laurel; great-grandfather Harold (Joan) Stark, Indianapolis; brother Cole Meyers, Laurel; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Lou Meyers; and great-grandparents Ruby Stark and Charles and Margaret Pavey.

Friends may call Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4-8 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 19101 U.S. 52, Metamora. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Ron McCulloch Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Laurel North Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cole Meyers College Fund.
