Gary Lee Kessens, 64

Gary Lee Kessens, 64, Batesville, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at St. Andrews Health Campus.

He was born July 12, 1949, in Batesville to Virgil and Eileen (Klostermeyer) Kessens. Gary graduated from Batesville High School in 1967 and also attended Versailles Vocational School. 

On Feb. 14, 1969, he married Cynthia Robinson at New Point Christian Church, New Point. They were celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary the day Gary passed away. 

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads. On Monday, Feb. 17, Gary would have reached another milestone, marking 45 years of working for Batesville Casket Co.

Gary will be missed by his wife; children Eric Kessens, St. Paul, Brandon (Christy) Kessens, Batesville, and Kimberly (Shane) Grubb, New Point; eight grandchildren: Miranda, Jacob and Carly Kessens, Kaitlyn, Megan and Samantha Kessens and Kale and Lucille Grubb; along with brothers Robert (Joyce) Kessens and Kenneth (Diane) Kessens, Batesville; sister Donna Harrelson, Greensburg; in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathleen Krieger.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 4-8 p.m., and funeral services with Pastor Dan Wolford officiating will be Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 E., Batesville. Burial will follow in Rossburg Cemetery, New Point.
