Forest “Fritz” F. White, 90

— Forest “Fritz” F. White, 90, Milroy, passed away Feb. 18, 2013, at his home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Milroy to Willard and Sudie White, both deceased.

The 1940 Milroy High School graduate married Anabel Han Oct. 24, 1942. She preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2007.

The Milroy Christian Church lifetime member was an ordained elder and Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years. Fritz was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge Knights Templar and Scottish Rite and Farm Bureau, and also served for 30 years as a director of the Rush County REMC. The 4-H leader had served on the Rush County Fair Board and Rush County Extension Board and was a longtime Milroy Community Club member.

The lifetime farmer also worked for 12 years as a salesman and county manager with Farm Bureau Insurance, Rushville. In his late years, he also enjoyed writing columns called “Grandpa Says” for the Rushville Republican.

He is survived by a son, Nick White, Milroy; brother and sister-in-law Howard and Geraldine White, Milroy; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Becky White Walker.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 21, from 4-7 p.m. followed by Masonic services, and funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Milroy Christian Church with the Rev. Ron Simbro officiating. Burial will be at East Brook Cemetery there.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church, Milroy Masonic Lodge or John Sam Anderson Scholarship for band and choir students with the Rush County Community Foundation.

Burns Funeral Home, Milroy, is entrusted with arrangements.
