Wanda May Ruble, 80

BATESVILLE —

Wanda May Ruble, 80, New Point, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg.

The daughter of Cecil and Elva (Leonard) Pursley was born May 16, 1933, in Decatur County. Wanda married Archie Ruble in Greensburg June 30, 1951.

She was a homemaker and did a wonderful job taking care of their six children. Making sure her children were well-educated was important to her, so homework and schooling always came first in their family. Wanda loved to quilt. Over the years, she had made a quilt for each one of her children and grandchildren. The New Point Christian Church member also enjoyed reading and loved hummingbirds, too.

In addition to her loving husband, Wanda will be missed by her four daughters: Rebecca (Randy) Schebler, Stella (Ronald) Pyles, Sandra (Gary) Hamer and Nelrose (Michael) Price; along with her two sons Thomas (Mary Beth) Ruble and Ernest (Ann) Ruble; plus her 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister Marjorie Warren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Richard Pursley, June Marticke and John Pursley.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 5-8 p.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Meyers Funeral Home with the Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in Rossburg Cemetery, New Point.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at www.meyersfuneralhomes.com
