Charlie G. Gabbard, 92

Charlie G. Gabbard, 92, Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at his residence. 

Charlie was born in Kentucky March 16, 1921, a son of the late Fannie (Burris) and Wiliam P. Gabbard. He was the husband of Elizabeth J. (Little) Gabbard. They were married in 1987. 

He is survived by his wife and children: daughter Dianna (Gene) Coop, Columbus, son Charles "Rick" Gabbard, Seymour, daughter Nancy (Rob) Wedge, Loretta, Tenn., son William P. "Bill" Gabbard, Uniontown, daughter Linda Brooks, Middletown, Ohio, son Randy (Marcy) Gabbard, Westport, stepsons Dean (Bev) Whittaker, Batesville, and Stephen (Lisa) Whittaker, New Point, and stepdaughter Victoria (Dave) Thomas, Lafayette; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 

The World War II U.S. Army veteran was employed at Cummins Diesel, Columbus, for 22 years. 

Funeral services officiated by Father Bill Ehalt are Saturday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Enochsburg. Visitation follows. 

Burns Funeral Home, Milroy, is entrusted with arrangements. 

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Margaret Mary Health or JDRF, formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
