BATESVILLE — Pauline Napier, 83, New Point, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at St. Andrews Health Campus.

Born Nov. 24, 1929, in London, Ky., she was the daughter of Thearn and Katherine (Reed) Peterson. She married Hobert Napier Feb. 25, 1946, in London, Ky. He preceded her in death July 14, 1986.

Mom was a strong and courageous woman. Her strength was gained from her strong belief in God. To occupy her time, Mom enjoyed not only her family and friends, but going to church, crocheting, gardening, reading the Bible, word searches, her countless flowers and bingo. Mom cared deeply for everyone she knew, whether it was family or friend.  She had the kindest heart, and the spirit of God transcended into her daily life. While our mother is no longer with us, she is with us in spirit, and she will always be in our hearts.

Pauline is survived by her daughters Betty (Sonny) Davis, Batesville, Abbie (Tim) Bell and Joyce (Brian) Cross, Greensburg, and Peggy (Trevor) Cook, New Point; and son James Napier, New Point. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Melissa Rork, David Shelton, Tyler Cook, Kylie Gregory and Kyle Bell; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings Josephine Lilly, Indianapolis, Janice Wilson, Greensburg, and Rosie Stinger and Ernie Peterson, New Point.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; children Barbara Ann Napier and Paul Kenneth Napier; brothers Tom, Eugene and Jim Peterson; and one grandson: Terry Davis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, from 3-5:30 p.m. followed by the service at New Point Christian Church with Mark Vice officiating. Burial will follow in Rossburg Cemetery, New Point. Online condolences at

Meyers Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
